Media coverage of my novel continues, after a flurry of articles, radio, and TV appearances right around my launch date of 11/07/25. This post will be updated continually. The Hippo Press, Southern and Central NH's most comprehensive source of Arts and Entertainment coverage, released its article in early November. I really enjoyed speaking with reporter Michael Witthaus, who describes The Shopkeeper of Alsace as a "lively, entertaining and frequently harrowing read," adding that my novel is "a page-turner that's satisfying throughout." The Boston Globe published a Q and A with me a few days later. The Globe's New Hampshire reporter, Amanda Gokee, asked some great questions! Here's her article, and please note: Amanda kindly included a Boston Globe free trial link, so you can read the article now. After a few weeks, it will be behind a paywall. I'm guessing some of you find paywalls annoying, but as a lifelong journalist, I think they are worth it to keep terrific reporters like Amanda covering our state.
In late October, I sat down with my friend and prolific historical fiction author Margaret Porter, who co-hosts (with Paul Brogan) the local TV show "Turning Pages." Don't we look happy? Margaret's background in film, radio, theater, and TV made it a seamless, professional-yet-relaxed production. Here's the link to the full interview:
In mid-November, I was a guest on "Maine Calling," which is Maine Public's midday talk show. Hosted by the talented Jennifer Rooks, I joined a panel to talk about my book and my long, arduous path toward traditional publication! We had a lively, fun discussion with tons of calls. I'll be on a similar panel on January 8th, on Vermont Public Radio. Meanwhile, here's the link to my appearance on Maine Public.

In late December, "The Shopkeeper of Alsace" received a beautifully-written review by Joe McQuaid in the New Hampshire Union Leader and Sunday News.
The "U.L.", as it's known here in New Hampshire, is the state's largest and most important newspaper. Joe is a lifelong newspaperman, a publisher, editor, and reporter, legendary for speaking his mind. WMUR is NH's ABC affiliate, and the only major commercial network TV station in the state. So when reporter Audrey Cox reached out to ask if I wanted to be featured on the station's popular daily lifestyle program, "Chronicle," I quickly said, "Yes!" Audrey and her cameraman, Chris Sheperd, were so kind, patient, and professional. And the story they produced - I think - is fantastic. Watch here:
